A mystery date who’s funny, sweet, charming, and handsome. Who reached the peak of his career at fifteen. Who keeps getting caught up at work in almost every country on the planet. Who works with animals Percival is almost certain no one has the authority to handle. Who no one seems to have even met except for Tina. And who was somehow interested in Percival?
Percival starts to wonder whether this date is made up.

In fics and TV shows I’ve been seeing what is, to me, unrealistic forgiveness.
The “Sorry” cure
If something happens. Something really bad, does it matter if a trusted person is really sorry or not? For example, in one show, a woman is kidnapped for over a week because of the actions of her male friend. He apologizes and their relationship actually advances to a romantic on in the very next episode. He’s sorry, but at that point does it even matter? After torture and humiliation. Even if you could forgive someone, could your relationship ever truly be the same, let alone advance?
Time heals all bullshit
This one is more common in fanfiction but I have seen it occur in one very popular film. A woman believes that a man has cheated on her, then 10+ years later finds out that he didn’t. She immediately drops everything to resume her previous relationship, including an existing engagement. After all that time, maybe your wounds are healed but if you’ve believed that you’ve been cheated on for so long, can your emotions regarding that person ever revert to that time when you felt favourably towards them. Because, speaking from personal experience, the easiest way to get over someone who’s wronged you is to convince yourself that you hate them. Let me know if that’s just me. But after 10 years of hating someone, can you love them again ever, let alone so quickly?
